Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Dozen Devs platform at dozendevs.com(the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Dozen Devs is a community platform that connects Android app developers with human testers. Developers list their apps for closed testing; testers opt in, test the apps, and submit daily screenshot proof. Both parties earn or spend “Aura” credits based on their participation.

The Platform is designed to help developers satisfy Google Play’s closed testing requirements legitimately, using real human engagement.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform.
• You must have a valid Google account to authenticate via our sign-in provider (Clerk).
• As a tester, you must possess an Android device capable of installing and running apps distributed through Google Play’s closed testing program.
• You may only maintain one account on the Platform.
• Accounts are non-transferable.

4. Tester Responsibilities

As a tester, you agree to:

• Submit only genuine screenshots taken on your own physical Android device of the app you are assigned to test.
• Submit screenshots that accurately reflect your real use of the app on the date indicated.
• Use a consistent device for each testing assignment (device switching mid-assignment may be flagged by our fraud detection systems).
• Not submit screenshots of a different app, edited/manipulated images, or screenshots taken by another person.
• Not attempt to circumvent our verification systems (perceptual hashing, EXIF analysis, OCR).
• Maintain your streak responsibly — missed days are permanent and cannot be appealed.

5. Developer Responsibilities

As a developer, you agree to:

• Only list apps that are your own intellectual property or that you have the right to distribute for testing.
• Ensure your app is accessible to testers through Google Play’s closed testing program before or promptly after listing.
• Upload accurate reference screenshots that represent the genuine UI of your app.
• Not list apps that contain malware, adware, or violate Google Play Policies.
• Maintain sufficient Aura escrow to cover tester rewards for the full testing duration.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the Platform.
• Create multiple accounts or use another person’s account.
• Attempt to manipulate the Aura system through fraudulent activity.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users of the Platform.
• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Platform’s infrastructure.
• Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable law.

7. Aura Credits

Aura is a virtual credit system used exclusively within the Dozen Devs Platform.

• Aura has no cash value unless Dozen Devs explicitly launches a redemption programme (which will be announced separately with its own terms).
• Aura credits cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged between users outside of Platform mechanics.
• We reserve the right to adjust Aura balances if fraudulent activity is detected.
• Aura credits do not expire while your account remains active.
• We reserve the right to modify the Aura reward rates at any time with reasonable notice.

8. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload (screenshots, app materials). By uploading content, you grant Dozen Devs a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform (e.g., displaying app icons in the catalog, running OCR verification on screenshots).

The Dozen Devs brand, website design, and Platform code are proprietary to Dozen Devs. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We do not guarantee that using the Platform will result in your app meeting Google Play’s tester thresholds, as this depends on Google’s own policies and systems.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOZEN DEVS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT OF AURA CREDITS CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT IN THE 30 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $50 USD.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

Upon termination, your Aura balance will be forfeited. Developer escrow will be refunded according to the amount remaining minus any Aura already distributed to testers.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
